Baseball Canada Championships: Stage set for 13U semis

The round robin stage of has settled in Moncton, as the final four games unfolded during the day on Saturday to wrap up the pool stage of the 13U Atlantic Championship.

After going undefeated on the opening day, Summerside picked up where they left off with another huge score. This time it was against Mount Pearl, where Will Morrison and Noah Gallant each had multi-RBI games on route to a 11-0 victory.

Dartmouth was able to spread their scoring against Fredericton, taking away a 6-4 win in their last round robin game. They had runs in each of their innings, except for the third where both teams went scoreless.

Usually 12 runs are enough to earn a win in a ballgame, but Kentville came up just short against host Moncton in their offensive outburst. They lost 13-12, thanks to a 12-run inning for the host squad.

They sent 17 batters to the plate in the frame. Both Olivier Poirier and Joshua Flynn had RBI hits in both their at-bats that inning.

With the wins for Moncton, Mid-Isle, Summerside, and Dartmouth, the semifinals are set to begin today beginning at 10 a.m. AST.
