Baseball Canada announces Women’s National Team Selection Camp invitees

MONTRÉAL-Baseball Canada is pleased to announce the names of 26 athletes who have been invited to participate in the Women’s National Team Selection Camp from July 9-12 at Gary Carter Stadium in Montréal.

The selection camp will be used to determine the 20 athletes that will represent Canada at the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Women’s Baseball World Cup in Viera, Florida from August 22-31, 2018.

During selection camp, Team Canada will play a four-game series against squads from Baseball Québec’s Midget AAA (2) at Gary Carter Stadium and conduct daily practices. The final roster will be announced on July 12.

Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) is a systemic approach being developed and adopted by Baseball Canada to maximize a participant's potential and involvement in our sport. The LTAD framework aims to define optimal training, competition and recovery throughout an athlete's career to enable him / her to reach his / her full potential in baseball and as an athlete.
