Baseball Canada determines National Championship host sites

OTTAWA- Eight Baseball Canada National Championship hosts were determined during the annual Baseball Canada Fall Meetings that took place in Hamilton over the weekend.

The breakdown includes one host for a 2018 Baseball Canada National Championship and seven for 2018 events.

Many excellent bids were submitted with championships being awarded to the following communities:

2018

  • 13U National – Woodstock, ON

2019

  • Baseball Canada Cup – Regina, SK
  • 13U National – Repentigny, QC
  • Ray Carter Cup 15U Boys – Oshawa, ON
  • 16U Girl’s Invitational – Hammonds Plains, NS
  • 18U National – London, ON*
  • 21U Men’s – Gatineau, QC*
  • Men’s National – Chatham, NB

*Awarded National Championship for 2019 and 2020

What is LTAD?

Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) is a systemic approach being developed and adopted by Baseball Canada to maximize a participant's potential and involvement in our sport. The LTAD framework aims to define optimal training, competition and recovery throughout an athlete's career to enable him / her to reach his / her full potential in baseball and as an athlete.
