Eight Canadian umpires selected to work Pan Am Games

OTTAWA- Baseball Canada is pleased to announce that eight Canadian umpires have been selected to work at the Pan Am Games in Toronto this July.

Five of the eight will work the men’s baseball competition in Ajax from July 11-19, while the other three will officiate the women’s baseball competition from July 20-26, also in Ajax.

In total, 12 umpires were selected to work the men’s baseball competition and seven umpires were selected for the women’s competition.

The Pan Am Games men’s baseball competition will feature seven teams (Canada, USA, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Colombia, Cuba), while the women’s competition will see five teams (Canada, USA, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Venezuela) compete for the gold medal.

The eight Canadian umpires selected are all part of Baseball Canada’s Umpires Program and were selected to work the Pan Am Games by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC).
