Three areas of focus in 2015:

Inaugural 21U Women’s Invitational – hosting first event in Bedford

Baseball Canada has added an 11th national championship to the fold for 2015 introducing the 21U Women’s Invitational that will take place in Bedford, NS from August 6-10. The 21U tournament will compliment the already established 16U and Open invitational tournaments showing the growth of women’s baseball throughout the last decade.

Coach Education Sessions

Following a recommendation that came out of Baseball Nova Scotia’s discussion groups in 2014, the provincial office offered seven-coach education sessions free of charge to members last month.

“The sessions were interactive featuring live demonstrations with former professional Nova Scotian players including Trevor Wamback and Darren Doucette,” said Baseball Nova Scotia Executive Director Brandon Guenette. “Each set of coaching education sessions focused on specific areas of baseball featuring experienced and knowledgeable presenters and spanned the province (from Yarmouth to Sydney) and all levels of coaches.”

Baseball Day in Nova Scotia

Baseball Nova Scotia is planning “Baseball Day in Nova Scotia” for July 11th that will see various locations across the province host baseball events.

“We’re still in the planning stages but we’re looking to host six or so events across the province that feature skills camps, games, prizes, ceremonies and more to celebrate the game of baseball in Nova Scotia,” added Guenette.
