Juniors Fall to Braves

ORLANDO, Florida-The Atlanta Braves pounded out sixteen hits and got past the Junior National Team for the second day in a row, this time by a 10-1 score.

The JNT scored their only run of the ball game in the top of the fifth inning when Justin Atkinson (Surrey, BC) scored on a RBI groundout from Gareth Morgan (Toronto, ON).

The Braves built a 3-0 lead through two innings when Tanner Spencer(Craik, SK) entered the game on the mound and shut things down for the third and fourth innings.

Spencer would give up two runs in the fifth inning as his outing saw him pitch three innings and give up two runs on five hits, walk three and strikeout three.

Michael Foster (Pickering, ON) replaced Spencer in the sixth and held the Braves bats in check before giving up a run in the seventh inning from a sacrifice fly.

Things unravelled for the JNT in the eighth when they committed two errors and gave up four hits which led to three more Braves runs being scored. None of the runs were earned by Foster.

Dayton Dawe (London, ON) pitched the ninth inning and gave up a run while also recording a strikeout.
