Plenty to celebrate for the GNBA on Rally Cap Day!

OTTAWA – The young Rally Cap players were all smiles as The Greater Niagara Baseball Association celebrated their accomplishments during the league’s first ever Rally Cap Day.

The association has been up and running for almost 85 years now, but doesn’t shy away from making changes. They began implementing the Rally Cap Initiation Program for the first time this year and are very happy with the results.

Rally Cap is a program designed to offer players an enhanced first experience in the game of baseball through a fun and safe environment.

“It’s important because it allows us to start the development process in year one,” said Geoff Allen, the GNBA’s Director of Development. “We're very excited to see the progression of this original Rally Cap group in the future. It's also important to our volunteer coaches who now have a great reference tool to assist them with their skill instruction.”

“The kids having fun and enjoying themselves is number one,” added Allen. That’s exactly what Rally Cap Day aimed to do as players were awarded their Rally Caps for what they accomplished throughout the year.

“For a lot of the kids, it's the first time they've played organized sports, so to see the smiles on their faces when they realize the accomplishment of earning the Rally Cap is priceless.”
