Yerzy goes yard in loss to Tigers

HOW IT HAPPENED

-The Tigers opened the scoring with the three runs in the first and put up runs in six of their nine offensive innings recording 20 hits in the process and took advantage of five Junior National Team errors
-They scored three runs twice and put counted four runs in each of the fifth and eighth innings
-A two-run homer highlighted their four-run fifth inning.
-Andrew Yerzy (Toronto, ON) matched the home run in the fifth with a long ball of his own when he swatted a two run homer in the fifth scoring Josh Naylor (Mississauga, ON) who had led off the frame with a double.

JNT HIGHLIGHTS

-Yerzy’s homer highlighted the offence for the JNT as they could only muster five hits throughout the game.
-Isaac Deveaux (Montréal, QC) collected a pair of singles in a 2-for-2 day at the plate, while Miles Gordon (Oakville, ON) accounted for the only other JNT hit of the game.
-Vincent Beauregard (Laval, QC) worked two innings without allowing an earned run. He gave up on hit and walked one batter.
