Peewee Western Championship

Alberta (1) 11  Manitoba (1) 2

Alberta pumped out 11 runs in the final three innings to defeat Manitoba by a final of 11-2.  Trailing 1-0 heading into the fifth inning, Alberta’s offense woke up to the tune of six runs to take a commanding five run lead.  They never looked back.  Eight Alberta players had at least one hit, and Kyler Charchun (Camrose, AB) was one of those players.  Charchun, who played three positions during the game, had two hits (including a home run) and four RBI. 

Saskatoon 11  Saskatchewan (2) 8

Saskatoon scored 11 runs on 12 hits to defeat Saskatchewan 11-8.  Offense was the them in this game as the teams combined for 22 hits and 19 runs.  Brody Vogel (Saskatoon, SK) showed off his power game for Saskatoon going 2/4 in the game with two home runs and six RBI, while Carter Kuchinka (Estevan, SK) had two hits and two RBI in his team’s losing effort.
