In an all-out offensive affair, Saskatchewan outlasted Alberta 15-12 in an early morning game at the Bantam Boys championship in Vaughan, ON. Alberta jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the 1st only to see Saskatchewan answer back with seven runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning. The offence continued in the 2nd inning when Alberta’s Matthew Lloyd (Calgary, AB) cashed in Carson Wlad (Calgary, AB), Lloyd would later score to bring Alberta within one. Again, Saskatchewan had an answer for Alberta as they cashed in five more runs in the bottom of the 2nd. Emery Anderson (Regina, SK) had a double that knocked in two runs and Bryce Crosbie (Moose Jaw, SK) contributed with an RBI single to give Saskatchewan a 12-6 lead. The lead held until the 6th inning when Alberta scored five times to mount a comeback. The charge was led by Doug Clapperton (Calgary, AB) who doubled in two runs to pace the offence. As was the case earlier in the game, Saskatchewan answered back with three more runs in the bottom of the inning which carried them to the victory. Cole Warren (Regina, SK) was credited with the victory and Jeremy Sylvester (Grand Coulee, SK) earned the save.

Vaughan hung on to beat Québec 9-8 in a wild one, which saw the lead change three times. Hee Do Kim (Toronto, ON) was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI’s for Vaughan while Charles Malette (St-Jérôme, QC) was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Québec.

Ontario hammered out fourteen hits en-route to an 11-6 win over Manitoba. The game was tied until the bottom of the 5th when doubles by Travis Seabrooke (Peterborough, ON) and Brodie Harkness (Bowmanville, ON) brought in one run each. Ontario added another three runs in the 6th to cushion their lead. Calvin Dueck (Morris, MB) was 2-for-4 with two RBI for Manitoba.

BC never trailed Nova Scotia and managed to hold off several comeback attempts to win 11-7. Mitchell Robinson (Surrey, BC0 had quite a day at the plate going 3-for-4 including a triple, with three runs scored and three RBI.

In a game that was closer than the final score indicated, Alberta got by PEI 12-7 at the Bantam Boys championship in Vaughan, ON. With the score tied 5-5 in the 4th inning, Doug Clapperton (Calgary, AB) had an RBI single and later scored on a Brayden Munro (Okotoks, AB) single to put the Albertans up by two. Clapperton would again rise to the occasion in the 5th with a two-run single as part of a five-run inning. PEI fought back with two runs in the 7th when Nick Kays (Charlottetown, PEI) scored and then J.J Oram (Summerside, PEI) came around to score on a bases loaded walk. In the end Jayde Johnson (Calgary, AB) struck out the final batter to end the game. Kyler Kleibrink (Okotoks, AB) picked up the win for Alberta while John Patrick Stevenson (New Glasgow, PEI) took the loss for PEI.

Québec used a seven-run 4th inning to defeat New Brunswick by a final score of 14-4. Louis Bedard (Québec City, QC) had three of Québec’s seventeen hits and also had two RBI.

Manitoba smashed-out ten hits and took advantage of nine Newfoundland errors to win 10-0. Taeron Lewis (Winnipeg, MB) had three hits and scored two runs while Nelson Quark (Winnipeg, MB) tossed the victory for Manitoba.

Vaughan handed PEI their second loss of the day as Justin Orton (Windsor, ON) had a homerun and three RBI to lead his team to a 12-0 victory.

Saskatchewan continued the trend of lopsided scores as they pounded New Brunswick 11-1. Jordan Schultz (Strasbourg, SK), Jager Toffan (Regina, SK) and Emery Anderson (Regina, SK) each belted homerun’s in the victory.
