Excitement Building for 2018 Baseball Canada 18U National Championship
(Fort McMurray, AB, May 9, 2018) – Through a partnership between the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) and Fort McMurray Minor Baseball Association (FMMBA), the Event Organizing Committee for the 2018 Baseball Canada 18U National Championship is pleased to welcome Pepsi as the Title Partner for the tournament, taking place in Fort McMurray from August 16-19, 2018.
Building on the success of the 2016 Baseball Canada Cup, the national event that brought an exciting week of tournament play and a sold out gold medal game to Fort McMurray, the 2018 Baseball Canada 18U National Championship Presented by Pepsi will see ten teams of elite 18 and under athletes visit the region to compete in the Baseball Stadium at Shell Place and Ross Hennigar Ball Park. 2018 tournament passes are now available for purchase.
Pepsi is the newest addition to a roster of community partners including Syncrude Canada, SMS Equipment, CNOOC Nexen and Rogers Media who have stepped up to the plate to support this great national event and bring the excitement to Wood Buffalo.

With an anticipated attendance of 5,000 spectators, The Baseball Canada 18U National Championship Presented by Pepsi is one of eleven annual national Baseball Canada tournaments. The Fort McMurray Minor Baseball Association will have an opportunity to represent the region and showcase local baseball talent through our very own Fort McMurray host team who will be competing in the tournament, alongside a roster of Alberta-based athletes competing as Team Alberta.
“Final preparations for this event are under way and tournament passes, which grant access to all games at both venues, are available for purchase at this time,” said Kevin Breen, 2018 Baseball Canada 18U National Championship Committee Co-Chair and President of the FMMBA. “The tournament schedule for the full 28 games is now available for viewing online. Fans won’t want to miss the Opening Ceremonies on August 16, which kicks off an exciting match-up game between Fort McMurray and Team Alberta at 7:30pm at Shell Place.”
