2018 Baseball Canada 18U National Championship presented by Pepsi underway today

Some of Canada’s top 18 and under athletes take the field today as the 2018 Baseball Canada 18U National Championship presented by Pepsi commences.

The national tournament welcomes 10 teams to compete in 28 games across two locations during the four-day event.

“It is an action packed weekend for the whole family to enjoy,” says Michael Marousek, Baseball Canada 18U National Championship Host Committee Co-Chair and Sport & Wellness Manager for the RRC. “The athletes arrived after long trips from across the country, we hope to see you in the stand to cheer them on and give them a big Fort McMurray welcome.”

Day-one starts with games at both Shell Place Baseball Diamond and Ross Hennigar Park, Opening Ceremonies in the Shell Place Baseball Diamond at 6 p.m., and team Fort McMurray taking on team Alberta at the Shell Place Baseball Diamond at 7:30 p.m.

The Baseball Canada 18U National Championship presented by Pepsi is a partnership between the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo and the Fort McMurray Minor Baseball Association under the guidance of Baseball Canada.
