Day 1 Complete - Victoria and Quebec Leading the Way
August 25, 2006

Day 1 of the 2006 Pee Wee AAA National Championships is now in the books and host Victoria and Team Quebec appear to be headed for a big Saturday showdown in Pool A, as both teams are 2-0, having secured big victories in their 2 games on Thursday. For Victoria, wins came over Manitoba 17-3 and Saskatchewan 12-2. Quebec thumped Saskatchewan 18-4 in their opener and defeated Manitoba 8-1.  Other Thursday winners in Pool A included PEI who squeaked by New Brunswick in a thriller 5-4.

In Pool B action, things are still up for grabs as three teams have one win each.  In early action Thursday, Team Ontario knocked off defending National Pee Wee champs British Columbia 9-5.  Team BC rebounded later in the evening with a 5-1 win over Newfoundland and Labrador.  Also getting in the Pool B win column was Alberta, who took a 12-6 victory from Nova Scotia.
