Day 2 Complete: Victoria and Quebec Headed for Showdown; Ontario Also Undefeated
Both Victoria and Quebec remained unbeaten in Pool A play on Friday and will now face each other in a showdown for first place at 11:30 AM on Saturday. In contrast to their big wins on Thursday, Victoria had to pull 2 late inning rallies out of their bag of tricks today to defeat PEI 6-5 and New Brunswick 7-4. Quebec continued their solid, steady play with win over New Brunswick 12-5 and PEI 8-4. In other Pool A action, Saskatchewan defeated Manitoba 14-4 to earn their first win.
In Pool A, Ontario remained undefeated with an 8-1 win over Newfoundland, while British Columbia kept pace with a decisinve win over Alberta 13-2. Nova Scotia also jumped into the win column with an 11-8 win over Newfoundland in the final game of the day.
