Bantam Boys

Québec 6 Vaughan 4

Québec scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth and hung on to beat Vaughan 6-4. Québec took advantage of seven Vaughan errors while Tristan Pagé (Ste-Julie, QC) earned the win on the mound by tossing 4 1/3 innings and striking out four batters. Vaughan’s Josh Naylor (Mississauga, ON) had two doubles and one RBI in the loss.

Saskatchewan 7 Manitoba 6 (9 innings)

Brayden Resch’s (Saskatoon, SK) single in the bottom of the ninth scored two runs and gave Saskatchewan a 7-6 walk-off, extra innings win over Manitoba. The runs were scored using the extra-inning rule where the inning begins with runners on first and second base. Resch went 4-for-5 with three RBI’s while Manitoba’s Christian Peters (Winnipeg, MB) and Riley Poole (Oak Bluff, MB) each had three hits and one RBI.

Newfoundland 13 Nova Scotia 3

Tyler Boland (St. John’s, NL) proved his worth both as a pitcher and batter as Newfoundland thumped Nova Scotia 13-3. Boland went 2-for-4 at the plate, including a triple and collected one RBI while also tossing five innings on the mound and striking out seven to earn the win. Redmond Hunt (Torbay, NL) had two singles and one RBI while Nova Scotia’s Gregory Herritt (Halifax, NS) had two singles.

Alberta 9 New Brunswick 7

In a back and forth contest, Alberta took the lead in the bottom of the sixth and hung-on for a 9-7 win over New Brunswick. With the score tied 7-7 in the sixth, Matthew Lloyd’s (Okotoks, AB) single brought in the go ahead run for Alberta. Austin Ely (Calgary, AB) who entered the game in the sixth, shutdown New Brunswick in the seventh to record the win. Mitchell Hazlett (Riverview, NB) went 3-for-4, including a triple and scored three runs for New Brunswick.
