Bantam Boys (Vaughan, ON)

PEI-7 Saskatchewan-6

PEI scored the tying and go-ahead runs in the bottom of the sixth to defeat Saskatchewan 7-6. William Slauenwhite (New Haven, PEI) doubled in a run in the sixth and later came around to score to put his club in front by one. Slauenwhite also had a triple to go along with two RBI’s to pace the PEI attack. Saskatchewan’s Thomas Gore (Saskatoon, SK) threw six innings and struck out seven batters.

Québec-14 BC-3

Abraham Toro-Fernandes (Montréal, QC) earned the win on the mound and also went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBI’s as Québec handed BC a 14-3 loss. BC jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one inning, but Québec responded with runs in four consecutive innings and ended the game via the mercy rule. Tristan Pagé (Ste-Julie, QC) contributed a triple and two RBI’s.

Vaughan-24 Manitoba-6

Mark Sinclair (Dundas, ON) went 4-for-4 with four runs scored and four RBI’s to lead Vaughan to a 24-6 drubbing of Manitoba. Vaughan had seventeen hits, scored thirteen runs in the second inning and took advantage of seven Manitoba errors.

Ontario-12 Nova Scotia-5

Ontario jumped out to a big lead early and went on to defeat Nova Scotia 12-5. Kenny Noguchi (Toronto, ON) had a single, triple and five RBI’s to lead the Ontario offence. Ontario used five pitchers including Mark Van Rycheghem (Chatham, ON) who didn’t allow a hit or a run and fanned five in two innings of work.

Late scores saw Alberta top Newfoundland 6-2 and BC mercy PEI 15-3.
