The offensive onslaught continued in the 5th when Cory Stang (Surrey, BC) hit a three run shot of his own and the rout was on. Red Deer fought back in the bottom of the 5th when Jason Chatwood (Red Deer, AB) would contribute a two-run homerun which was followed by two more Red Deer runs. The host club, Dartmouth, continued their winning ways as they blanked Fort Saskatchewan (Alberta-2) 3-0. Merek Deska (Toronto, ON) was the story of the game as he pitched a complete game three-hitter and struck out twelve batters.

Scott Rhynold (Prince George, BC) had a dominant outing on the mound, tossing a complete game two-hitter as BC beat up on Ilderton (Onatrio-2) 6-0 at the Senior Men’s championship in Dartmouth, NS. Sean Hotzak (North Vancouver, BC) broke a scoreless tie in the 3rd inning by belting a two-run homer to put his team up by two. In the 4th inning BC put the game out of reach as Cory Stang (Surrey, BC) and Jeff Sheppard (Burnaby, BC) joined the party by each drilling two-run homers to give BC the commanding lead. From there Rhynold kept the Ilderton batters at bay for the rest of the game.

Red Deer (Alberta-1) used a three-run 5th inning to break a 4-4 tie and held on for a 9-4 victory over Nova Scotia. Jason Chatwood (Red Deer, AB) and Delton Kruk (Devon, AB) each had two hits and two RBI to pace Red Deer offensively.

Newfoundland held off a furious comeback attempt by Fort Saskatchewan (Alberta-2) in the 7th inning to win 6-5. Newfoundland pounded fifteen hits including three from Peter Madden (St. John’s, NF) and Karl Dehart (St. John’s, NF) went the distance to earn the victory.
