Trois-Rivières, August 19th 2010- In the opening game of Baseball Canada’s 2010 Pepsi Junior Championship, the Host team Trois-Rivières Aigles Plante Sports defeated Newfoundland and Labrador 12-1, in 6 innings, at Trois-Rivières’s Fernand-Bédard Stadium.

After a scoreless first inning, Trois-Rivières took a 1-0 lead in the second, when Jonathan Valdez scored on a Pier-Olivier Dostaler single.

In the top of the third inning, a Dominic Samyn single sent Cédric Vallières and Charles Trottier home, for a 3-0 lead.

In the bottom of the third, Newfoundland and Labrador scored it’s only run, when Steve Brien crossed home plate on a Justin Downey ground out.
