About the Host City

Community Overview

Brandon
Brandon is the second largest city in Manitoba and is a dynamic, growing prairie community. Our population is constantly increasing and currently sits at 44,300.   Brandon is a regional service centre to 180,000, enabling the community to be home to major retail centers, cultural and sporting events that are common to a community much larger. Brandon’s dynamic business and manufacturing industries are attracting many cultures from around the world.

Brandon boasts a wide variety of sports and recreation facilities and is a community that stands behind its many successful sports teams. Simplot Millenium Park  is an excellent, well-kept facility, with 8 baseball diamonds together at one park. Having this number of diamonds allows families with children in different age groups to be in one location for an entire tournament. In addition to this one of a kind ball park, Brandon is pleased to be home to high-quality soccer, hockey, rugby, equestrian, curling, golf, swimming, racquet-sport and on-water facilities.

Brandon has more than 1,200 hotel rooms that provide all of the comforts of home to teams, officials and spectators. Our restaurants, shopping and attractions easily meet the needs and interests of our visiting families. Brandon has a vibrant performing and visual arts community and is home to numerous quality cultural events throughout the year. Furthermore, Brandon hosts many internationally renowned events every year, attracting millions of visitors to our city.

Brandon is a dynamic and changing center that is currently experiencing a period of unprecedented growth. Our industrial and manufacturing community is diverse and very supportive of events and initiatives. Additionally, Brandon is a leader in environmental projects, being recognized as one of four C4 Communities in Manitoba. Closely connected to its agricultural roots, Brandon is an exciting prairie community that is moving forward in a progressive yet responsible manner.

Record of Success
Brandon is well known as the “Host City” having been home to many major national and international events over the years. We are pleased to have the distinction of being one of the only Canadian cities to host both the Winter and Summer Canada Games (1979 and 1997 respectively). We look forward to welcoming the Pee Wee Boys Western Canadian Baseball Championships, teams, coaches, officials, parents and spectators. Enjoy your stay in beautiful Brandon, Manitoba!
