2019 13U National Western ChampionshipsAug 15-18   Cloverdale, British Columbia

About the Host City

Surrey is one of the fastest growing cities in Canada and is rising as British Columbia's next metropolitan centre. We are a City fueled by diversity and youth, with over 100 different languages spoken and 25% of our population under 19 years old. Situated in the heart of Metro Vancouver and right below the Fraser River, our central location, innovative university district, and vibrant lifestyle options are attracting over 800 new residents each month and 2,500 businesses each year. We are poised to become the largest city in British Columbia over the next 25 years, and our thriving, green, and inclusive city is actively transforming into a destination where families and individuals want to live, work, and play close to home.

Settled in the mid to late 1800s, Cloverdale grew from a largely rural and agricultural community into a bustling hub of commercial activity due in large part to its strategic location and connections to the railway. Today, Cloverdale, which is home to the Surrey Museum and the Surrey Archives, unique heritage buildings, and a quaint "Main Street," retains much of its historic ambiance.

Each year, the Cloverdale Fairgrounds plays host to the Cloverdale Rodeo. Cloverdale is also home to the BC Vintage Truck Museum and Surrey's Heritage Rail
