The city of Saguenay is just a little over eleven years old, having been officially created on February 18th, 2002. Its creation was the result of a fusion between 4 cities (Chicoutimi, Jonquière, La Baie and Laterrière) and three other municipalities (Canton Tremblay, Lac-Kénogami and Shipshaw). Saguenay is a dynamic young city, as its territory and personality is the result of its particular historical context.
