Back Mainland Commons

Mainland Common is the second field used for the national tournament and is the home of the team representing our province, the Halifax Pelham Molson Canadians. The Mainland Common was built 10 years ago and is located in a community of Halifax called Clayton Park.

If one is travelling to the Mainland Common from Halifax downtown, the easiest route is Robie St., a major thoroughfare from the downtown area. Travelling north along Robie St., one will come to a fork, the left leading to Bedford, the right to Dartmouth via the Murray MacKay Bridge. The left lane is the one to take. Stay in the left lane passing the container pier on the right, Carroll Pontiac on the left. Shortly after Carroll Pontiac, turn left at the lights, this is Bayview Dr.  Continue on Bayview Dr. through 2, 3-way stops to a set of lights at Lacewood Dr., the only lights you will see. Turn right, continue to the third set of lights (just prior to these lights you will see Shopper's Drug Mart on the left, Sobey's on the right). About 1/4 mile after the Shopper's and Sobey's you will see the new Canada Games swimming pool on the left (it's huge, you can't miss it). Slow down, Raddall Dr. is on the left at those 3rd lights (you'll see a library called Keshen Goodman), turn left there. The parking lot is about 200 feet on your left.

From the Halifax airport, you'll take the road that points to Halifax and Dartmouth.  Keep to the right and veer right toward Bedford and the Annapolis Valley on Highway 102. Continue on the 102  and you will se a Costco on the right and a Home Depot on your left.  Take the exit ramp before these two stores, it is Lacewood Dr. Turn left at the bottom of the ramp and keep to the right. Proceed about a mile. Watch for the huge Canada Games swimming pool on the right, turn right at the lights just before it, the Keshen Goodman Library is also at that intersection (Lacewood Dr. and Raddall Dr.). The parking lot is on the left, about 200 feet.
