Teams, Players, Coaches and Team Officials

Teams must arrive in Fredericton by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2009.

Players and Coaches are asked to be at the Welcome Reception at Marysville Heritage Centre starting at 5:30 p.m. Teams are reminded that team pictures are taken at this time so teams are encouraged to wear team attire.After the reception all teams will have the options to attend a Senior Baseball game at Royals field which starts at 7:30 and players and coaches will be admitted free of charge.  Teams will be bus to the field or bus back to UNB if they wish not to attend the game.   If you attend the game you will be bus  to UNB at the end of the game.

Accommodations: Accommodations for players are as follows: All teams are going to be housed at the University of New Brunswick. Two players per room, linen will be provided individuals will have to bring their own towels. Teams are asked to confirm by August 4th if they will require accommodations.   Teams can contact Kathy Waugh of the host committee at or 506-452-2843 or 506 449-1051. kwaugh@unb.ca

Please note:  UNB charges $25 for each room key and $100 for each entrance key not returned.  Therefore, we are requesting a $650 key deposit to be paid by each team upon arrival.  This is based on keys provided to 18 players and 4 coaches plus one entry key per team.  The deposit will be returned to the team when all keys have been returned.  Please make cheque out to 2009 Midget Baseball Canadian Championships. 

For teams that wish to have paid accommodations, you may contact the Fredericton Inn Host Hotel at 1-800-561-8777 or http://www.frederictoninn.nb.ca/ to make arrangements and make sure that you state that you are with the Midget Nationals. All arranged accommodations are available from Wednesday, August 12 to Monday, August 17 inclusive. Should teams wish to arrive earlier or stay longer it will be at their own expense. We encourage all teams and officials to fly into Fredericton Airport to enable us to provide you with a prompt transportation system. 

Meal Plan: Meal plan is available for $35.00 a day and will be provided at the University, you must buy the meal plan by August 4th, 2009. To do so please contact Kathy Waugh at kwaugh@unb.ca or 506-452-2843 or 506- 449-1051.  Cheques can be made  payable to  2009 Midget Baseball Canadian championships.

Transportation:

Plans will be made to ensure teams are picked up from the Fredericton Airport. Please let our team liason committee member know of your arrival information and she will arrange transportation if needed. Suzanne Bourgeois -  or 506-444-1347 Suzanne.Bourgeois@gnb.ca All games will be played at the Royals and Thompson Fields, Royal’s will be the main field for the tournament, and transportation will be provided for the teams to and from the parks.

Meetings:

The Pre-Championship Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 12 starting at 6:30 at the Marysville Heritage Center. Each team is permitted only to send two (2) reps per team, one should be the chef and one other rep.  

Umpires:

Umpires should arrive in Fredericton by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday August 12, 2009. Umpires are welcome to attend the Welcome Reception at Marysville Heritage Centre on August 12, @ 5:30 and should reserve by August 1 to Don Estey.

Accommodations for Umpires:  have been arranged at The University of New Brunswick.  There will be three bedroom suites for umpires (3 umpires per suite). Linen and towels will be provided. Accommodations are available and paid by the host committees from August 12 - August 17. Individual umpires must arrange and cover costs for earlier arrival and later departures. Contact for umpires is:

Transportation for Umpires has been arranged to and from the airport and during the championship for all umpires. Umpires will receive a Meal Per Diem from the Host Committee upon arrival at the championship.
