2015 13U National Atlantic Championship

Yarmouth, Nova Scotia – September 10th to 13th, 2015

 

Congratulations & Welcome to All Peewee Baseball Players, Coaches, Families and Friends!!

 

Yarmouth, Nova Scotia is proud to be hosting the 2015 13U National Atlantic Championship this season commencing on Thursday, September 10th through to Sunday, September 13th.  Our committee has been busy planning this exciting weekend of events to ensure that you and your baseball team have a fun and memorable weekend in the western end of our beautiful province.

 

Please take the appropriate time to review the outlined details regarding our championship weekend, so that you don’t miss a thing!

 

ACCOMMODATIONS:

 

All teams are to make reservations at our Host Hotel - Rodd Grand Yarmouth, as this is our sponsor hotel. 7 blocks of 14 rooms each have been reserved for players/parents/coaches. Some teams may not need this many and other teams may need a few more and the hotel will work with Host Committee to make all necessary adjustments.

All arranged accommodations are available from August 20th, 2015 to [TBA]. Should teams wish to arrive earlier or stay longer, it will be at their own discretion to make these arrangements.

 

MEETINGS:

 

The Pre-Tournament meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 10th starting at 8:00pm at the Rodd Grand Hotel, 417 Main St, Yarmouth. Each team is required to attend (Chef), for space max two (2) representatives per team.

TEAMS - Players, Coaches and Team Officials:

 

Teams must arrive in Yarmouth by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10th.

 

MEET & GREET BBQ:  Players and Coaches are asked to be at the Mariners Centre (Arena 2) for the Meet & Greet BBQ starting at 6:00 pm on Thursday, September 10th.  BBQ is complimentary for Players, Coaches, Managers, Umpires & families. Teams are reminded that team pictures are taken at this time so teams are encouraged to wear team attire.

 

TOURNAMENT BANQUET:  is scheduled for Saturday, September 12th at 7:30pm at the Mariners Centre (Arena 2). Tickets are provided for accredited players, coaches and provincial reps. A Hot Meal will be served (buffet style). Teams are expected to wear team attire (Casual attire).  Tickets for this banquet are to be pre-sold to all others planning to attend and we receive notification by Sept 09, 2015, at latest; $20.00 per person.

FIELDS: 

There may be practice fields available and bookings can be made on a first come, first serve basis through Yarmouth Recreation Department at 902-742-8688.

 

ADMISSION: The Host Committee has determined that we will not need to charge admission to the games. We do ask that parents and family friends support our 50-50 efforts and canteen services.

 

UMPIRES: Umpires should arrive in Yarmouth by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10th, 2015.

 

Umpires are asked to be at the Mariners Centre for the Meet & Greet BBQ starting at 6:00pm on Thursday, September 10th.

 

Accommodations for Umpires:  arrangements have been made at the Rodd Grand Hotel, 417 Main Street, Yarmouth. There will be two umpires per room. Accommodations are made and paid by the host committee from Thursday, September 10th to Monday, September 14th (inclusive). Individial umpires must arrange and cover costs for earlier arrival and later departures. Contact information for the hotel:

Transportation has been arranged to and from the airport and during the tournament for all umpires. Umpires will receive a Meal Per Diem from the Host Committee upon arrival at the championship tournament. Umpires will each receive a complementary ticket to the Tournament Banquet being held on Saturday, September 12th at the Mariners Centre.  A Hot Meal will be served. Dress is casual.
