We would recommend teams be in Medicine Hat by 3:00pm, Tuesday August 12th, 2008. This will give you time to get settled in your hotel, get registered as a team for the Championships, and attend the opening banquet at 6:30pm on August 12th. The Medicine Hat Hosts will only be responsible for accommodations for teams and coaches from August 12th to 19th, 2008. Departure August 19th. Room availability is based on Quad occupancy.
If individual teams are planning on arriving earlier than August 12th or staying later than August 19th they must make their own arrangements.

Transportation from the Calgary airport or from the Medicine Hat airport has been arranged for teams (players and coaches only). Transportation to events during the tournament has also been arranged. Ken Sauer will be in charge of transportation, his contact information can be found on the list on the first page. It is important to notify Ken or Mary Lou of your arrival date. We will need to know if we need know where and when we need should be picking you up.
The meals will be served at the Medicine Hat College for players and coaches. Meal plans will provide teams with three meals a day from August 13th to August 18st and breakfast for August 19th (24 passes per team).
Games will be held at Athletic Park and Jeffries Park. Both fields have concession stands, washrooms, batting cages and first aid stations. Host coordinators will be available to be contacted by cell phone at all times. The official Baseball Canada Cup Souvenir stand will be located at Athletic Park.
Practice Fields will be available. Practice schedules will be coordinated as soon as we know when each team plans to arrive and if they wish to practice prior to August 13th. Please advise Mary Lou Hansen or Lovell McDonnell of your arrival dates and expectations of practice times prior to August 13th as soon as possible. Each team will receive one practice time on Wednesday August 13th if required.
Opening ceremonies will take place at Athletic Park at 7:00pm on August 13th, 2008. Teams should be at Athletic Park, wearing team shirts, and in place for the Grand Opening. Medical Services will be available at each diamond and for each team throughout the course of the tournament; Dr. Gerry Prince will be the Doctor in charge. Individual and team pictures will be taken August 13th prior to the Opening Ceremonies. Precise photo schedules will be provided at a later date. There will be a host co-ordinator at both ball Diamonds throughout the tournament.
The Pre-Championship meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 12 following the banquet at approximately 8:30pm. The location will be the same site as the banquet, held in a private room. A rep from each team is required to attend.
We suggest that Umpires arrive in Medicine Hat no later than 3:00pm, August 12. Registration and accommodations have been arranged at the Medicine Hat Lodge based on double occupancy.

Umpires must make their own arrangements if they would like to spend extra time in Medicine Hat before or after the Championships. Umpire contact for the Baseball Canada Cup is Hugh English at (403) 528-4560. Transportation will be provided for Umpires to and from the games during the championships.
