2013 13U National Peewee Atlantic Baseball Championships

Greetings from Fredericton, New Brunswick, proud home of the 2013 13U National Peewee Atlantic Baseball Championships, which are being held from September 5 to 8, 2013. We are confident that this championship will be a great one. The Fredericton Minor Baseball Association along with Baseball NB, the City of Fredericton and the defending champion Fredericton Peewee Royals are pleased to host this event. Please take the time to review the details below regarding the championship so that your experience in Fredericton will be an enjoyable and memorable one.
TEAMS (Players, Coaches and Team Officials):
Teams must arrive in Fredericton by 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2013.
Teams are asked to provide their travel itinerary to the Host Committee as soon as available.
Accommodations:
The host hotel is the Delta Fredericton Hotel, located at 225 Woodstock Road. A block of rooms have been reserved at the hotel for the players/coaches (Contact: Kerrie Conlon). See the “Accommodations” tab for more details and contact information for the hotel.
All rooms are blocked for arrival on September 4 and departure on September 8.
Payment for all accommodations is the responsibility of the travelling teams. The Delta Fredericton Hotel has provided rooms at very competitive rates. It is highly recommended that teams stay there for logistical purposes and to support a major tournament sponsor that is helping make this event a great one.
Transportation:
Teams and officials who are flying in will arrive at Fredericton Airport (YFC), which is approximately 20 minutes from the hotel. See www.frederictonairport.ca.
Transportation to the host hotel and all local travel, including transportation to and from the fields, is the responsibility of the travelling teams.
Games:
All games will be played at Prospect Street Fields Upper and Lower operated by the City of Fredericton’s Department of Community Services. Both fields have lighting. There will be washrooms and concessions available at the fields. Baseball Canada merchandise will also be available for purchase.
Opening Ceremonies:
Opening ceremonies will be held at the fields at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 5. All teams are asked to arrive 15 minutes early to prepare for marching in. Please be in full uniform and bring your provincial flag.
Meetings:
The Pre-Championship Meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 via teleconference. Final details will be announced at a later date.
Banquet:
The Championship Banquet will be held on Thursday, September 5 at 7:00 pm at the Delta Fredericton Hotel. Stay tuned for updates regarding the exciting program we have for the banquet. Tickets for the Banquet will also be on sale for fans and the public.
UMPIRES
Umpires should arrive in Fredericton by 3:00 pm on Wednesday, September 4.
Umpires are encouraged to attend the Championship Banquet on Thursday, September 5 at 7:00 pm at the Delta Fredericton Hotel.
7 rooms for Umpires and Baseball Canada representatives have been booked at the Lakeview Inn & Suites, located at 665 Prospect Street. These suites can accommodate 2 umps per room. All rooms are booked for arrival on September 4 and departure on September 8. Individual umpires must arrange and cover costs for earlier arrival and later departures. Details and contact information will be provided at a later date.
Transportation will be arranged for all umpires through rental cars which are pre-booked. Umpires will receive a Meal Per Diem from the Host Committee at the Pre-Championship meeting, details of which will follow.
GUESTS
Game ticket prices are as follows: Tournament Pass $25.00; Day Pass $15.00; single-game tickets $7; Six & Under Free. Tournament Passes are on sale now by contacting the Host Committee.
