North York Baseball Association would like to welcome all 2011 National players, Coaches and their families to Bond Park, which is nestled into a quaint neighbourhood in North York Ontario. The NYBA is a 100% volunteer based organization, home to both House League and Rep level baseball Players. Below, please find tournament and hotel booking information, details about a wonderful Opening Ceremonies evening at the Rogers Centre, which includes tickets to watch the Jays game.

Opening Ceremonies

We are pleased to announce that Opening Ceremonies will be held at the Rogers Centre in Toronto just prior to the Jays Game on Wednesday July 27th. All players and coaches will be provided complimentary tickets for the game. Players and coaches must wear their uniforms to the ceremony and are to arrive at the Rogers Centre at Gate #7 by 6:00PM on Wednesday July 27th .

**Family and Friends can purchase tickets to the game through this direct group sales number 1-888-654-6529x14946. Tickets have a group discount rate of $10/ticket and team managers should arrange to purchase the tickets on behalf of the friends and family wanting them. Please do not call on an individual bases.

 

Accommodations for players

A Main Block of Rooms has been established at Seneca College and a smaller block set aside at Centennial College (Howard Johnson). Both are  located approximately 15- 20 minutes from Bond Park and are $74.95/night. Prior to May 31st, Seneca is taking $5 off making each room $69.95 until that date, (74.95 after)

Players and coaches can reserve there own rooms on an individual call in bases with a credit card. Rooms are based on 2 players/room. Seneca offers two single bedrooms with double beds, a small shared living room and kitchen. Centennial offers two double beds, microwave and refrigerator.

On Site Food

North York has a fantastic volunteer run snack bar located on site at the Park. It will be open for the entire tournament. There are a variety of foods to choose from. Breakfasts could include fresh fruit bowls, toasted bagels, and the BEST Canadian back bacon on a bun in North York (well, so we’ve been told!). For lunch, try a fantastic Cheeseburger, or a ball park size hotdog, maybe a side Greek salad to go along. There are many food choices at very reasonable prices, but, It’s a cash only stop, we do not offer debit at this time.

Guest Accommodations

For families not wishing to stay in the residences, a small block of rooms has been set aside at Yorkland Hotel until June 25th. Please contact the hotel directly to reserve, under the block name “North York Baseball Association”. Rates are $99/night for a 2 Queen bed room, complimentary parking. The hotel has a restaurant on site, an indoor pool, is minutes away from Fairview Mall, and only a short 10 minute drive to Bond Park.

Jays Tickets/opening ceremonies

TRANSPORTATION

Players and their families are required to make their own transportation arrangements to and from Bond Park and downtown to the opening ceremonies at the Rogers Centre.

DIRECTIONS TO BOND PARK

From Leslie Street: ( and HWY 401)

The entrance from Leslie Street is the most direct way to find Bond Park. Head South on Leslie Street from Highway 401, cross the major intersection of York Mills Road and continue south keeping an eye for Bond Avenue, which will be the fourth street on your left. Turn left onto Bond Avenue and follow it through the arch under the train tracks. Once past the arch, Bond Park reveals itself.

From Don Mills Road:

Heading south on Don Mills Road from York Mills Road, cross the bridge over the railroad tracks. Turn right onto The Donway West and follow Donway West to the third right which is Duncairn Road. Turn right onto Duncairn Road. Stay on Duncairn Road as it winds its way right  to Bond Avenue. Turn left and the Bond Park baseball diamonds are next to the tennis courts

From the Don Valley Parkway (DVP):

Exit at Lawrence West. Take Lawrence westbound past Don Mills Road to the next set of lights, The Don Way West. Turn right and follow to Duncairne Road. Left at Duncairn, Stay on Duncairn Road as it winds its way to Bond Avenue. Turn left and the Bond Park baseball diamonds are next to the tennis courts.
