LET’S PLAY BALL.....

Greetings from Prince George, B.C., proud home of the 2012 RE/MAX Baseball Canada Senior Championship! We are proud of our legacy of holding first-class tournaments at both the national and international levels. Plans are well on their way to ensure this year’s championship will be great one – the second time Prince George has played host to the event (2002). Please take the appropriate time to review the outline details regarding our championship so that your experience in Prince George will be an enjoyable one.

TEAMS: (Players, Coaches and Team Officials)

Teams must arrive in Prince George by 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2012.

Players and Coaches are asked to be at the Opening Banquet, sponsored by the Yellowhead Rotary Club and Pacific Western Brewing Co., starting at 6:00 PM Wednesday August 22, 2012. (Complimentary for Players, Coaches, Managers, officials, and major sponsors).

Accommodations for players are as follows: Four players per room inclusive August 22-27. Accommodations for teams and officials have been arranged at various downtown facilities, full details to be announced shortly.  

All arranged accommodations are available from Wednesday August 22 until Monday August 27. Should teams wish to arrive earlier or stay longer it will be at their own expense. If you do plan on arriving early please contact Jim Swanson via email at worldbaseball@telus.net or phone 250-613-7492.

All teams and officials who are flying in will arrive at Prince George International Airport, and transportation chair Paul Clermont (Northern Spirit Transportation) will provide prompt transportation to your host hotel. Contact Jim Swanson to arrange.

All games will be played at Carrie Jane Gray Park – home to feature stadium Citizen Field and secondary facility Rotary Park, both fields have lighting. There will be washrooms and concessions available at both ball fields. Practice fields are available and bookings can be made on a first come first served basis through Lance Brommeland.

MEETINGS:

The Pre-Championship Meeting is scheduled for 9:00 PM Wednesday, August 22, at the Coast Inn of the North (location subject to change). Each team is permitted only to send two reps per team and their Chef de Mission.

UMPIRES

Umpires should arrive in Prince George by 3:00 PM on Wednesday August 22. 

Umpires are asked to be at the Opening Banquet at Citizen Field starting at 6:00 PM Wednesday, August 22.

Accommodations for Umpires have been arranged, and there will be two umpires per room. Accommodations are available and paid by the host committees from August 22 to August 27 (inclusive). Individual umpires must arrange and cover costs for earlier arrival and later departures. Contact Lance Brommeland at lbrommeland@hotmail.com if you will be arriving earlier.

Transportation has been arranged for pick up and drop off at Prince George International Airport and to and from both ball fields during the championship for all umpires. Umpires will receive a Meal Per Diem at your pre-tournament meeting which is Wednesday, August 22 at approximately 9:45 PM at your host hotel, from the Host Committee.

Game ticket prices are as follows: Tournament Pass $85.00, (Seniors and students $75). Day Pass $25.00, single-game tickets $10. Six & Under Free. Tournament Passes are on sale now through all Ticketmaster locations (on-line, charge-by-phone).
