LET’S PLAY BALL.....

Greetings from Miramichi (Chatham) New Brunswick, proud home of the Canadian Senior Baseball Championship! Plans are well on their way to ensure this year’s championship will be great one. Please take the appropriate time to review the outline details regarding our championship so that your experience in Miramichi will be an enjoyable one.

TEAMS: (Players, Coaches and Team Officials)

Teams must arrive in Miramichi by 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2011.

Players and Coaches are asked to be at the Opening Luncheon at Ironmen Park starting at 6:00 PM Wednesday August 24,2011.. (Complimentary for Players, Coaches & Managers).

Accommodations for players are as follows: Four players per room inclusive August 24-29th. Accommodations for teams & officials have been arranged at the Howard Johnson and Fundy Line Motels. Eight double rooms per team will be provided.  

All arranged accommodations are available from Wednesday August 24th until Monday August 29th. Should teams wish to arrive earlier or stay longer it will be at their own expense. If you do plan on arriving early please contact Brian Richard via email at scorbord@mac.com OR phone 506-210-1897.

All teams and officials will fly into Greater Moncton International Airport to provide you with a prompt transportation to and from the airport. Contact is Bryan Carter bryan_carter23@hotmail.com or 506-210-1934.

Daily meal plans will be available to all teams/umpires at special rates. We will be sending each team a copy of the  options available to you and a contact for you to make arrangements if you choose to use this option.

All games will be played at Ironmen Field in Chatham and Waldo Henderson Field in Chatham Head (Both fields have lighting). There will be washrooms and concessions available at both ball fields. Practice fields are available and bookings can be made on a first come first served basis through Daryl Matthews by email matthdaf@nbnet.nb.ca or phone 506-624-3199.

MEETINGS:

The Pre-Championship Meeting is scheduled for 9:00 PM Wenesday August 24th. Each team is permitted only to send two reps per team and their Chef de Mission.

UMPIRES

Umpires should arrive in Chatham by 3:00 PM on Wednesday August 24th

Umpires are asked to be at the Opening Luncheon at Ironmen Field starting at 6:00 PM Wednesday August 24th.

A Home Run Hitting Contest and Casual Evening will take place at Ironmen Field on Wednesday night. A meal will be provided for players (21 per team), Provincial and Team Officials (4 per Province), working umpires and umpires supervisor (15) and the Baseball Canada official representative. Details of the Home Run Hitting Contest will be posted.

Accommodations for Umpires have been arranged at the Rodd Inn. There will be two umpires per room. Accommodations are available and paid by the host committees from August 24th to August 29th (inclusive). Individual umpires must arrange and cover costs for earlier arrival and later departures. Transportation has been arranged for pick up and drop off at the Moncton airport and to and from both ball fields during the championship for all umpires. Umpires will receive a Meal Per Diem at your pre-tournament meeting which is Wednesday August 24th at approximately 9:45 PM at Ironmen Field from the Host Committee.

Game ticket prices are as follows: Tournament Pass $50.00,(Seniors $40 Sixty and over) Day Pass $15.00, Final game of each day $7. 13 & Under Free. Home run hitting contest $5 Tournament Passes are on sale now.
