Greetings from the 2026 Baseball Canada Men’s 22U Championship Organizing Committee!

We are pleased to welcome you to Tecumseh, Ontario this summer!

Plans are well on their way to ensure this year’s championshipwill be great one. Please take the appropriate time to review the outlined details regarding our championship so that your experience in Tecumseh will be an enjoyable one. 

Once again, we are very pleased to be your hosts for this year’s Baseball Canada Men’s 22U Championships!

 

Team/Player Information 

Arrival: Wednesday, August 5th by 4:00 pm

Welcome Event and Home Run Derby – Opening Ceremonies & Social plus the HR Derby Wednesday, August 5th 6PM – 9PM, Bert Lacasse Park.

Pre-Tournament Meeting – Wednesday, August 5th – Time: TBD / Place: TBD

Team Photos – Thursday, August 6th to be arranged with each team by Coordinator of Photography prior to your first game of the tournament (Clean Uniforms!)

 

Opening and Closing Ceremonies

  • Opening Ceremonies will take place on Wednesday August 5th, 6:30PM at Bert Lacasse Park (All teams to participate a march onto the field. NOTE: Matching Jersey’s, Collared Shirts or TShirts along with team hats are a requirement. Players can wear shorts, jeans etc.) Full uniforms are not required at opening ceremonies.
  • Home Run Derby will take place directly after the opening ceremonies. (We will be contacting each team for their HR Deby participant closer to the event for information and player background for the broadcast)
  • Closing Ceremonies will take place on Sunday, August 9th at Bert Lacasse Park following the Gold Medal Game. This is not a mandatory event.

 

Transportation

For those teams planning on using their own bus or vehicles, please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly. For those teams planning to utilize the host transportation, transportation will be provided from the airport to the host hotel(s) and back to the airport after the tournament. Game day buses (each team will have their own bus) for players, coaches, and team personnel will be provided to and from the venue before and after games.

Accommodations

Room blocks at hotels are set aside by the host however teams/provincial offices are responsible for managing their respective hotel blocks. If you are unsure of your hotel situation, it is recommended to reach out to your provincial baseball association as they have been in contact with the hosts and/or Baseball Canada to block rooms.

The host committee has worked to provide various options of accommodations for the event.

  • Both Hotels are 5 minutes to Bert Lacasse Park (Park #1 and Main Field) and 20 minutes to Reg Chevalier Field in Woodslee (Park #2)   
  • SCC residences are 20 minutes to Bert Lacasse Park & 20 minutes to Reg Chevalier Field, Woodslee

 

TownePlace Suites by Marriott (opened in November 2025) in Tecumseh is offering 2 Queen Beds and Full Kitchens (all rooms are Suites) for a rate of $220 ( King +  Pullout King Studio) and $230 (Double Queen) per night plus taxes. This hotel also hosts the Treaty & Oak whiskey bar.

St. Clair College Residences is offering two-bedroom suites (each bed is slightly larger than a double, but not as large as a queen) at a flat rate of $109.95 per person plus 13% HST. Bedrooms are separate and the rooms are air conditioned, have a full kitchen with fridge and microwave. Contact is Aaron Grass at agrass@stclairresidence.ca. Meals can be ordered thru any food / fast food delivery app to the front desk for pickup.   This Location is NOT AN OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT HOTEL and Tournament Transportation will NOT be provided. This location could be great for a team travelling with their own bus or for any family/friends who would like a more affordable stay. This location is on the St. Clair College (Windsor) Campus with access to college food offerings during the weekdays only. (Tim Hortons etc.) BBQ’s and large outside patio area available right out the back of the residences with nice walking trails and a huge outdoor college sports campus to explore!

Practice Opportunities

There are limited options for practice as both fields for the championships are not operational as they are being groomed for the championship. There are 22U size fields that may be available but will require travel from an accommodation site. It is recommended that teams discuss their request with the Tournament Chair to determine which might be best.

 

Live Streaming

WE-Digital has been contracted to provide live streaming from our main field, Bert Lacasse Park.

Streaming will be FREE for the tournament round robin games. There will be a small fee for the quarter finals, semi’s and championship games. The fee amount and the link to the streaming service will be provided at a later date.

CABA Streaming Services (You Tube) will be streaming LIVE from Reg Chevalier Field in Woodslee. There will be no cost to view these games. The link to the streaming service will be provided at a later date.

Umpires  / Baseball Canada Technical Committee Members have been assigned to the Holiday Inn Express – Lakeshore - 14 Amy Croft Drive Lakeshore, Ontario N9K 0A.

Tickets

Tickets will be available for purchase at the entrance to Bert Lacasse Park prior to each game. (Note: There are NO TICKETS required for games played at Reg Chevalier Field, Woodslee).

Admission fees:

  • $20.00 Day Pass
  • Daily Twilight Pass (after 5pm) $10.00
  • 10 years and under FREE 
  • ADULT Tourney passes available @ $60.00 (includes all round robin, quarter, semi and final games)
  • SENIOR (60+) & STUDENT Tourney passes available @ $50.00 (includes all round robin, quarter, semi and final games)
