OTTAWA – Baseball Canada is thrilled to reveal the names of four athletes who have been selected as award winners for the 2019 edition of the Women’s National Team after the squad earned a bronze medal at the COPABE Women’s Baseball World Cup Qualifier in Aguascalientes, Mexico last year.

TORONTO (March 22, 2020) – The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC), backed by their Athletes’ Commissions, National Sports Organizations and the Government of Canada, have made the difficult decision to not send Canadian teams to the Olympic and Paralympic Games in the summer of 2020.

Baseball Canada has been closely monitoring all available information related to the continued spread of COVID-19. The health and safety of our athletes, coaches, officials, staff and partners as well as upcoming events, is our priority.

The impact of COVID-19 is becoming increasingly disruptive to sport and continues to have an expanding impact internationally. Baseball Canada has been closely monitoring all available information related to the continued spread of COVID-19. The health and safety of our employees and partners as well as upcoming events, is our priority. After reviewing the relevant positions from the Public Health Agency of Canada, Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer, and the Government of Canada, Baseball Canada has decided to postpone all its upcoming in person events until March 27, 2020 with intent to provide our membership with weekly updates on the situation.  The following events are currently planned in our calendar for April and Baseball Canada will soon inform its membership on their status:

OTTAWA – The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) announced earlier today that the Baseball Americas Olympic Qualifier scheduled for March 22-26 in Surprise and Tempe, Arizona has been postponed due to player, personnel and spectator health and safety measures to counter the spread of the coronavirus.
