Accomplishments:

Jordan is in his second year of a very promising umpiring future~! Jordan’s love for playing the game of baseball combined with enthusiasm for a part time job led him to his first level one clinic. In his first year, as an under aged, but very keen umpire, he secured the “Rookie of the Year” award from his baseball association. He has never looked back. He demonstrates a proficiency and confidence on the field of someone much older, and is well liked and respected by both players and coaches. A highlight for Jordan this year was that the CTV News did a local feature on him as a minor baseball official on their Perry’s Prospects segment. Jordan was mike’d and filmed while officiating a mosquito league game. He did an outstanding job. Jordan lives in the Fraser Valley and plans to continue playing and officiating baseball for a long time. Both his association and provincial umpire body are very proud to have Jordan representing them!

Name:
Amanda
Years Officiating:
3
Certification Level:
Level 1

Accomplishments:

Amanda started out as many umpires do, as a player. Amanda had been playing softball since she was 9 and then switched to Baseball at the age of 16 where she played on the New Brunswick Bantam Girls Provincial Team. In 2005 while attending the Baseball Canada Bantam Girls Championship in Fredericton Amanda was impressed that all the umpires at this National Championship were female. This is what inspired Amanda to become an umpire and she started when she was 18. Amanda umpires from Mosquito to Midget regularly and had the opportunity this season to umpire bases for a game in the Southeastern NB Intermediate League. Many coaches and players have been encouraging and have given her compliments on how she umpires games. Amanda lives and umpires in the Greater Saint John area and has been umpiring for 3 seasons.

Baseball, Golf, Soccer, Waterskiing, Camping & snowmobiling.

Accomplishments:

I currently reside in St. Albert, Alberta. I played baseball up to the Bantam league. I started umpiring three years ago at the age of 11. My father and brother influenced me in becoming an umpire. I enjoy umpiring not because of the money but to help out with the game I love and enjoy playing. Umpiring has taught me to be more professional and build up my self confidence. It is very hard work especially in the heat of Alberta and communicating with players and coaches at such a young age. I have umpired Mosquito and Pee Wee community and competitive leagues. I plan on furthering my umpiring career in the years to come and take the level 3 course next year.
