OTTAWA- The 2022 Canada Summer Games will take place in Niagara, Ontario from August 7th to August 13th, where ten provincial teams will battle for a chance at a gold medal at Canada’s marquee amateur sporting event.
The competition will feature some of the top 17U baseball talent in the country who have earned themselves a spot to represent their respective provinces in Niagara. The last edition of the Canada Games saw Team Saskatchewan crown themselves with the gold medal while Team Manitoba and Team Alberta secured their spots on the podium with Silver and Bronze, respectively.
The format this year will see two pools, Pool A and Pool B, with teams in Pool A playing a double round robin and teams in Pool B playing a single round-robin. At the end of pool play, winners of Pool A and Pool B will meet with the winner gaining direct entry into the gold medal contest. The second-place team in Pool B will meet the third-place club in Pool A in a quarter-final game with the winner facing the second-place team in Pool A to determine the other finalist.
Welland Stadium in Welland and Oakes Park in Niagara Falls will host all games in the baseball competition.
You can follow the action online on the Canada Games official streaming platform Niagara 2020 Official Streaming Site. In addition to the online coverage, more than 100 hours of live competition and events, including the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, will stream live on CBC Gem, CBC Sports and ICI Radio-Canada Sports.
