OTTAWA-Week 7 of voting in Baseball Canada’s 50 for 50 contest is complete and our sixth semi-finalist has been determined.
Canada qualifies for 2004 Athens Olympics won out and will move on to the semi-final round beginning on July 14th.
To date, we have seven semi-finalists. They are:
- Women’s National Team program begins in 2004
- Canada wins bronze at 1999 Pan Am Games
- Loewen/Francis taken in Top 10 in 2002 MLB Draft
- Canada wins 2011 Pan Am Games gold medal
- National Team Qualifies for 2008 Olympics
- BC’s dominance at Baseball Canada Cup-20 medals in 24 years
- Canada qualifies for 2004 Athens Olympics
Week 8 of voting in the preliminary round will begin Monday, June 23rd at 12pm ET.
Voters will be able to choose one of the following five choices to join our Week 7 winner in the semi-finals:

1) Charlottetown, PEI wins silver at 1977 Senior Nationals
2) Canada wins gold at 1991 World Youth Championships
3) Canada defeats Jim Abbott and Team USA at 1988 Seoul Olympics
4) Baseball Canada implements Challenger Baseball program in 2012
5) Baseball Canada holds National Summit in 2003
