All teams are to arrive in Dartmouth/Halifax by the afternoon of Wednesday, Aug. 14 A pre-tournament meeting will take place on Wed., 9 p.m., at the host hotel, The Ramada Inn. Two representatives per team, a coach and the chef de mission, are requested to be in attendance.
SWING FOR THE CURE HOME RUN DERBY - The Swing For The Cure Home Run Derby will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at Beazley Field in Dartmouth beginning at 7 p.m. Each team will nominate one player representative for the event and each participant is to be in full uniform and must attend a participant briefing at 6:45 in the 1st Base dugout.
PLAYERS, COACHES, MANAGEMENT, AND UMPIRES RECEPTION - At the same time as the Home Run Derby a reception will be held for all teams and officials at the same location, Beazley Field so you can meet, mingle, and cheer on the Derby participants. Food and drink will be provided and beer will be available for those 19 years of age and over. The respective team officials are to contact Brent Hobson with regard to the number of players on each team and how many are over 19 years of age. A form has been provided for such, information can also be sent to Brent at hobson@ns.sympatico.ca.
OPENING CEREMONIES - Opening ceremonies are scheduled to begin at 6:15 Thursday, Aug. 15 at Beazley Field. All teams are to wear full uniforms, including hats, and assemble on the track on the 1st base side of Beazley Field no later than 6:00 p.m. A piper will lead the VIPS and teams unto the playing field.
CLOSING CEREMONIES - The Closing Ceremonies will take place after the Gold Medal game. Gold and silver medals and Player of the Game Awards will be presented at that time. Baseball Canada MVP Awards and the naming of the tournament All-Star will then take place.
TEAM PHOTOS - Team photos will be taken during the round-robin play as per the schedule provided by Brent Hobson. Photos will be taken approximately one hour before game time as shown on the schedule in the immediate vicinity of the ball field.
