2024 Men's National Championships

The Tecumseh Baseball Club, in collaboration with the Town of Tecumseh and WE Digital Productions, is proud to host the Men's National Championship that will be held August 21-25, 2024 in Tecumseh Ontario at Bert Lacasse Ball Park as well as Reg Chevalier FIeld in Woodslee Ontario. This event will feature 10 teams made up of the best Men's ballplayers in all of Canada.

Host requests that all teams arrive at the airport by 2:00pm or at the hotel by 3:00pm Wednesday, August 21, 2024. Buses to Lacasse Park will leave from the Host Hotel starting at 4pm for the coaches meeting, opening ceremonies and home run derby.

NOTE: Teams do not need to be in full uniform for opening ceremonies, but please be in matching team attire (hats, jersey's, golf shirt etc.). Basic dress code in effect.

 

WELCOME NIGHT

All players, coaches, chefs de mission, umpires and officials are asked to attend the welcome event being held Wednesday, August 21, 2024 starting at 4:30pm at Bert Lacasse Park.

At this event:

• Player, coach and offiicial credentials will be provided
• A meal will be provided for all players, coaches, chefs de mission, umpires and officials
• Parents and others are invited to attend and purchase food items from our food trucks and concession stand on site.
• A Beer Garden will be open and made available by "Frank Brewing Company" a local Tecumeh brewery. LINK: https://frankbeer.ca/ 
• Opening Ceremonies. Welcome comments by local dignitaries and team introductions.
• The homerun competiton with an overall HR Derby Winner along with an EAST vs WEST team competition winner (team total home runs)
• 14+ minute fireworks show immediatley after the home run derby brough to you by K&H Fireworks of Tecumseh and Sponsored by the Town of Tecumseh Recreation Services with Glow Bands sponsored by The St. Clair Beach Optimist Club. 

 

PRE-CHAMPIONSHIP MEETINGS

The pre-championship meeting will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 5:00pm on site at Bert Lacasse Baseball Park underneath the Grandstands in the meeting room.

The umpires meeting will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at TBD pm at the Holiday Inn Express.

 

OPENING AND CLOSING CEREMONIES

All coaches and players must be present at the opening ceremonies that will be held on Wednesday, August 21 at 6:30pm.

Closing Ceremonies will take place on Sunday August 25 at Bert Lacasse Park immediately following the Gold Medal Game. Attendance is encouraged but not madnatory.

 

HOMERUN COMPETITION

All players and coaches must be present at the Homerun Competition that will be held Wednesday, August 21 at 7:00pm.

 

TRAVEL TO TECUMSEH

All participants travelling by plane are requested to plan for arrival at:

• Windsor Int'l Airport - 5 Minutes to the Team Residence - 15 - 25 minutes to Ballparks.

Participants wishing to arrive at Detroit Metro Airport (USA) will be required to find their own transportation to and from team residences.

Teams looking to fly into and out of SW Ontario other than Windsor International Airport > Toronto, London and Hamilton (which are the three larger airports outside of Windsor).

A few local companies/services below you can look into to get transportation to Tecumseh and the Team Residences. The cost will be directly on each team and not Baseball Canada or the Host Committee. 

The Host Committee will pickup and drop of teams, if you have flights coming into and out of Windsor International Airport ONLY.

Once teams are here, the host commitee will transport to and from the team residences to their game day ballparks with school buses (each team will have their own bus for transport TO and FROM their games). If teams plan on using their own bus, please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.
