WELCOME EVENT
The Welcome BBQ will take place on Wednesday, August 17th at Shell Place. The evening will begin at 6:00pm and includes a casual BBQ dinner. This event is complimentary for players, coaches, managers, officials, and Baseball Canada representatives. Friends and family that also wish to attend this event can purchase tickets by August 10th at www.macdonaldisland.ca/events
PRE-TOURNAMENT MEETING
The pre-tournament meeting will take place on August 17th at 8:00pm in Grand Ballroom C at Shell Place (MacDonald Island Park).
TEAM PHOTOGRAPHY
Team Photography will take place prior to the Welcome BBQ on Wednesday, August 17th at Legacy Dodge Field at Shell Place. All teams are required to wear their uniforms for their team photography session. Team photos may be pre-ordered online at www.18u.onewolf.ca
OPENING & CLOSING CEREMONIES
The Opening Ceremony will take place on Thursday, August 18th at 6:30 pm at Legacy Dodge Field at Shell Place and is included in the purchase of your tournament pass.
The Closing Ceremony will take place following the Gold Medal Game at Legacy Dodge Field at Shell Place, MacDonald Island Park.
All teams are required to wear their uniforms for the opening & closing ceremonies.
PRACTICE OPPORTUNITIES
On behalf of the 2022 Host Committee, we will be offering complimentary use of batting cages prior to game/practice time from August 16th to 21st. In addition, each team will have the opportunity to have one complimentary practice session at one of the two event venues, Legacy Dodge Field at Shell Place or Ross Hennigar Ball Park on either August 16th or August 17th. SKILLS COMPETITION
In the event that tie breaker games are not needed and there are no changes due to inclement weather, the Host Committee will plan a Skills Competition in the evening of Saturday, August 20th. Details will be shared during the Pre-Tournament meeting.
TRANSPORTATION
Local ground transportation is provided by the Host Committee and includes airport pick up/drop off, special event, practice, and game transportation between host hotels and the venues. Team Managers are asked to provide your airport arrival and departure times to Jodie Cooper as soon as they are confirmed. An email will be distributed to each team’s Chef de Mission regarding transportation prior to the event. A review of each team’s final transportation schedule will be completed for the duration of the tournament on Wednesday during the Pre-Tournament meeting. At this time, a contact person for transportation will also be given.

Our 2022 Host Committee has teamed up with Fort McMurray Hotel Group for the 18U Championship event.

Each team has seven rooms currently reserved from August 17th to August 23rd. The seven rooms will be paid for by the Host Organizing Committee. Should a team arrive on August 16th or requires one additional room, the extra room or night booking will be at their own expense at time of reservation. Teams will still be required to sign a group conduct policy upon arrival and provide a valid non-prepaid credit card at check in to cover any incidentals that may be incurred.
