Greetings from the 2024 Baseball Canada 18U National Championship Organizing Committee!
We are pleased to welcome you to St. John’s this summer! Plans are well on their way to ensure this year’s championshipwill be great one. Please take the appropriate time to review the outline details regarding our championship so that yourexperience in St. John’s will be an enjoyable one. Once again, we are very pleased to be your hosts for this year’s Baseball Canada 18U Championships!
Team and Player Information
Arrival: Wednesday August 14, 2024 at 4:00 pm
Welcome Event – Wednesday August 14, 2024 – St. Pat’s Ball Park – 6:00 PM. Opening Ceremonies and Homerun Derby
Pre-Tournament Meeting – Wednesday August 14, 2024 – 9:00 PM – Capital Hotel Boardroom
Team Photos – TBD
Opening and Closing Ceremonies
Opening Ceremonies will take place at St. Pat’s Ball Park before the homerun derby and player
banquet on Wednesday August 14th. Families are welcome to attend the homerun derby.
Admission to the homerun derby will be a cash donation or non-perishable food item to help
support local food banks.
? Teams will arrive at St. Pat’s 5:30- 5:45 PM (Bus service will be available from the hotel)
? Opening ceremonies will start at 6:00 PM
? Casual Dress (Team Baseball Attire)
? Teams will meet in left field and will walk from the outfield into the infield area for opening
ceremonies
? Food (BBQ, salads, deserts) will be served during the homerun derby
? If there are any dietary restrictions please let Michelle Healy

? Home Run Derby will take about ~90 minutes
Closing Ceremonies will take place on Sunday August 18 at St. Pat’s Ball Park following the Gold Medal Game
Transportation
Transportation will be provided from the airport to the host hotel. Game day shuttles for players, coaches, and teampersonnel will be provided to and from the venue before and after games. If teams plan on using their own bus, please letus know in advance so we can plan accordingly.

All accommodations are in place from your stay on Wednesday August 14, 2024 to your
departure on Tuesday August 20, 2024. Any additional nights pre or post event will be at your
expense.

Umpire Meeting – Wednesday August 14, 2024 at 4:00 pm – Capital Hotel Boardroom
Umpire accommodations are at the Ramada Hotel.

Livestreaming
We plan to offer live streaming at both venues. Live streaming will be offered by Hometeam Live and will charge a fee to view the games. Link to the livestream will be provided closer to the event.
Practices & Batting Cages
To book a practice and/or batting cage time in advance of the tournament on Wednesday August 14, 2024 please contact Greg Williams (gregwill19@gmail.com). Note there will be a $250.00 charge per team for bus transportation TO/FROM practice .
Batting cage times will be assigned to each team before each game based on your schedule.
There are batting cages at both facilities.
