Baseball Canada & The Regina Optimist Baseball Association, Welcome You to The Baseball Canada 21U National Championships, here in Regina, Aug 13-17, 2015! Our City, Regina, Saskatchewan, is known as the Queen City, and is our Oasis on the Prairies. We look forward to serving you, and having a Great Tournament, with anticipated fond and warm memories.
Teams: 10 Provincial Championship Teams. Further information on teams, click here > Teams Arrival: All Teams and Coaches must be in Regina, and checked into Hotel by 4PM Aug 12/15. Transportation: Busing will be provided for all players and coaches, to take them to and from the Travelodge Hotel, the playing fields, the airport, and practice fields. Buses are for teams only. Tournament: Aug 13 – Aug 17, 2015. Games start morning of Aug 13/2015. Times and schedules will be posted, when finalized. Travel Lodge Hotel Website, Click Here > Travelodge Hotel Website Banquet will be held in the main banquet room of the hotel, located in lower level of hotel.Banquet room holds 250 people only. Request seating for parents/family – contact below, space is limited! Coaches Meeting: Aug 12, 2015, at 8PM, at Travelodge Hotel, after Opening Banquet. Meeting room details will be given at opening banquet, and each team is allowed 2 representatives at the meeting. Meeting Rooms: All meetings and meeting rooms will be at the Travelodge Hotel, and will be announced at the opening banquet. If you, your team, or coaches, and umpires require private meeting rooms, please let us know 3-4 weeks before start of the tournament, so we may make arrangements with the Hotel. Accommodations: All Players, Coaches, and Umpires will be staying at the Travelodge Hotel. Closing Ceremonies and Awards: Aug 16, 2015 at Regina Optimist Baseball Park. Time will be announced at the opening banquet. (Note Aug 17 is rain out day if needed)
Fields: Regina Optimist Baseball Park and Currie Field, both located in Regina. Regina Optimist Baseball Park will be the Host Field.
Chef De Mission: Please provide us the contact information of the Chef De Mission of each team, including phone number and e-mail address, 3-4 weeks before the start of the tournament. Contact us at the contact information at bottom of page.
Umpires: All Umpires will be staying at the Travelodge Hotel. If there are any requests, please let us know 3-4 weeks before the start of the Tournament at the contact information at the bottom of the page. Special Needs: If required, please contact us at contact information below, 3-4 weeks before start of Tournament in order to give us time to meet your requests.
Batting Cages/Practice Fields/Other: Will be provided. Please contact us at contact information below, 3-4 weeks before start of Tournament in order to make sure we meet your requests.
Restaurants/Shopping/Activities: All players, coaches, umpires are staying at the Travelodge Hotel, located at the south end of Regina. Within a 6 block radius of the Hotel, are a multitude of Restaurants, Shopping Malls, Movie Theatres, Drug Stores, and various amenities. Tournament Memorabilia and Wearables: To be announced in July/15
Amenities: Both the Optimist Park (Host) and Currie Field offer hamburgers, hot dogs, soft drinks/other for sale. Drinking water is available at both Fields. Restrooms on site. Please note, Teams are responsible for getting water to the dugout.
Alcohol: Sale and drinking of alcohol is not allowed at the Optimist Park and Currie Field. All players, coaches, team members, and umpires are encouraged to participate in this tournament responsibly. Any alcohol or drug ‘abuse’ will result in immediate disqualification from the tournament.
Damages/Liability: Any damages to hotel rooms, buses, fields, equipment, will be charged back to the individual and/or team/organisation of concern.
Sunflower Seeds/Waste/Garbage: To be disposed of in garbage containers. Park to be kept clean.
Swearing and Vulgarity: As this tournament is family friendly and there will be children present, swearing and vulgar actions are not allowed please.
Radios/Sound: Please keep radios/music/devices to an absolute minimum level. Cheer all you want!
Dogs: all dogs must be on a leash. No dogs/pets on buses or in hotel rooms.
Safety/Security/Medical: Medical staff on site at all baseball games. Know where your children are at all times. No playing under stands. Unusual or dangerous behaviour, please report immediately to volunteers on site, security on site, or to police.
Lost Items: Report to Canteens at Currie Field and Optimist Park.
