2024 13U National Championships

The Woodstock Minor Baseball Association, in collaboration with the city of Woodstock, is proud to host the 13U National Championship that will be held August 21-27, 2024 in Woodstock Ontario at Southside Park. This event will feature 12 teams made up of the best baseball players of 13 years and under in all of Canada.

Host requests that all teams arrive at the airport by 1:00pm or at the hotel by 3:00pm Wednesday, August 21, 2024.

Welcome Night

All players, coaches, chefs de mission, umpires and officials are asked to attend the welcome event being held Wednesday, August 21, 2023 at 4:30pm at Southside Park in the heart of Woodstock. At this event:

• Player, coach and offiicial credentials will be provided
• A barbecue dinner will be held for all players, coaches, chefs de mission, umpires and officials
• Parents and others are invited to attend and purchase barbecue items
• The Easton Hype Fire homerun competiton hosted by Hazel Mae and Kevin Barker

Homerun Competition

All players and coaches must be present at the Homerun Competition that will be held Wednesday, August 21 at 5:30PM

The HR Derby will be a West vs East Competiton. Team West is comprised of a batter from BC, AB, MB, ON1, ON2 and Host. Team East is comprised of a batter from QC1, QC2, NS, PE, NB and NL

Each team will nominate a batter to represent their provincial team. Each batter will select their own pitcher for the competition. The organizing committee will reach out to the head coach for batter and pictcher details.

  • 12 batters (1 from each province)
  • 90 second round
• Round 2
  • 6 batters (top three from Team West and top three from Team East)
  • 90 second round
• Round 3
  • 2 batters (top batter from Team West vs top batter from Team East)
  • 90 second Round + 60 second timeout

Following the HR Derby, Rawlings will present an adult Slo-Pitch hitting display

Pre-Championship Meetings

The pre-championship meeting will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2023 at 7:30pm at the Woodstock Holiday Inn 

The umpires meeting will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2023 at 8:00pm at the Woodstock Holiday Inn 

Travel To Woodstock

All participants travelling by plane are requested to plan for arrival at:

• London International Airport – 35 minutes from Woodstock Hotels via HWY 401
• Region of Waterloo International Airport – 40 minutes from Woodstock Hotels via HWY 401
• John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport – 44 minutes from Woodstock Hotels via HWY 403

Participants wishing to arrive at Toronto Pearson International Airport will be subject to an additional pick-up charge

Livestreaming of the event can be purchased here. A full tournament pass is $40.00 and daily passes are $15.00

Fields

The Championship will be held at Woodstock Southside Park East and West 192 Old Wellington St S, Woodstock, ON N4S 3L3. 

Concessions

The tournament will be running a BBQ concession on site. The menu will feature standards everyday including hamburgers, hot daogs, sausages and french fries plus a daily special:

• Thursday Aug 22 - smoked pulled pork on a bun
• Friday Aug 23 - smoked brisket on a bun

There also may be food trucks in the park, however they are not associated with the tournament. We hope that you will consider eating at our concession or at one of the restaurants featured in our program

The tournament will also offer a beverage tent onsite

Opening Ceremonies

All coaches and players must be present at the opening ceremonies that will be held on Thursday, August 22 at 5:30pm.
