2022 Baseball Canada 18U National Championship presented by Pepsi coming to Fort McMurray August 18-21
(Fort McMurray, AB, June 6, 2022) – Baseball Canada is returning to Fort McMurray in 2022 through a partnership between the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) and Fort McMurray Minor Baseball Association (FMMBA). From August 18-21, Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo will welcome the 2022 Baseball Canada 18U National Championship presented by Pepsi.
In 2016, just weeks after the Horse River wildfire, Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo hosted the 2016 Baseball Canada Cup, showcasing the resiliency of the community to visiting teams, officials and spectators from across the country. In 2018, Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo welcomed the 2018 Baseball Canada 18U National Championship presented by Pepsi to the region to once again showcase and celebrate elite level baseball.
Building on the success of the 2016 and 2018 Baseball Canada events, the 2022 Baseball Canada 18U National Championship presented by Pepsi will see ten teams of elite 18 and under athletes visit the region to compete at Legacy Dodge Field at Shell Place and Ross Hennigar Baseball Park.
“We are proud to once again host Baseball Canada and welcome the visiting teams, officials, support staff, families and spectators to the 2022 Baseball Canada 18U National Championship presented by Pepsi,” said Mike Mayuk, 2022 Baseball Canada 18U National Championship presented by Pepsi Organizing Committee Co-Chair and FMMBA Treasurer. “In both 2016 and 2018, our region embraced these events as sponsors, volunteers and fans. This year, after a long period when events such as this could not take place, we know that our region will once again come out to support the event and our visiting guests.”
The Baseball Canada 18U National Championship presented by Pepsi is one of eleven annual national Baseball Canada tournaments. FMMBA will have an opportunity to represent the region and showcase local baseball talent through our very own Fort McMurray host team who will be competing in the tournament.

2022 Baseball Canada 18U National Championship presented by Pepsi Tournaments Passes go on sale on Monday June 13 at 10:00 am. Tournament Passes include access to all games at both venues, including the Bronze Medal Game, Gold Medal Game, and Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Single-game and medal game tickets will be available closer to the event date.
