Back Legends Field at Queen Elizabeth Park

Play Ball!

Queen Elizabeth Park (which forms a square around Granville St., Green St., Summer St., and Beattie Ave.) includes three baseball fields:

  • Legends Field
  • Gordie Arsenault Field
  • Very Important Volunteer (VIV) Field

The park also includes a T-Ball field for our rising athletes.

Whether you are part of a ball team or just cheering one on, you can enjoy everything the ball park at Queen Elizabeth Park has to offer, including a concession stand, public restrooms, water foundations, a clubhouse/locker room, and a media box.

Honouring Baseball in PEI

As reported in a 2013 Journal Pioneer article Legends Field was named “to honour those who have made a significant contribution to baseball in the Summerside area” (August 30, 2013).

As part of the field’s name, in 2013 the Sports Heritage Committee Page helped to erect the Legends Field Monument to honours those influential to the game of baseball in Summerside on a bronze plaque. Every year, a ceremony is held to induct new names onto the monument.

2015 honourees:

  • Coke Grady: player, coach, director, umpire
  • Mike Cameron: board member of Summerside Area Baseball Association , coach, volunteer
  • PEI Islanders: silver-medalists at 1977 Canadian senior baseball championship
