OTTAWA – The 2021 Baseball Canada Cup will be staged in Regina, Saskatchewan while the 2021 21U Women’s Invitational will take place in St. John’s, Newfoundland following recent approval from Baseball Canada’s Board of Directors.
It was also confirmed that St. John’s will host the 2022 version of the 21U Women’s Invitational as well.
The postponement of the 2021 Canada Summer Games to 2022, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, left a void at the 17U select age category for 2021 that has now been filled with Regina hosting the Baseball Canada Cup and some of the top talent that the country has to offer.
The event will mark the third time that Regina has hosted the Baseball Canada Cup as the community staged the 1991 and 2019 versions.
A non regional Baseball Canada championship will make its return to Newfoundland & Labrador for the first time since 2014 (Men’s National) in 2021 with the playing of the 21U Women’s Invitational before returning again in 2022.
Dates for the 2021 Baseball Canada Cup and 21U Women’s Invitational in 2021 and 2022 are still being confirmed and will be posted on Baseball.ca when available.
