OTTAWA- Baseball Canada elected its new executive earlier today at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Ottawa. The AGM brought together representation from each of Baseball Canada’s 10 member Provinces to discuss the growth and development of amateur baseball in Canada.
Jason Dickson (New Brunswick) will return as President, being acclaimed in this year's election. The former Major League Baseball All-Star and Canadian Olympian (2004) just finished his first term as President (2016-2018) after serving in the Vice-President’s role since 2010.
Also being acclaimed was Don Paulencu (Alberta) who will return for his second term as Vice-President while Ken Sharpe (Manitoba) was elected as Treasurer.
All 3 members of the executive will serve two-year terms.
The ten-member board of directors comprising one representative from each province is as follows:
British Columbia: John Berry
Alberta: Jon Oko
Saskatchewan: Shaun Fraser
Manitoba: Tony Siemens
Ontario: David Huctwith
Quebec: Jean Boulais
New Brunswick: David Watling
Nova Scotia: Andrew Downs
Prince Edward Island: Walter MacEwen
Newfoundland & Labrador: Kevin Legge
The next Baseball Canada general assembly will take place at the Fall Convention slated for November 8-11 in Ottawa.
