SOCIAL TAKE: Caissie, Calabrese land on Baseball America top draft prospects list

OTTAWA- Baseball America expanded their Major League Baseball Draft top prospects list earlier this week that includes a pair of current Junior National Team members among the top 300.

Outfielders David Calabrese (Maple, ON) and Owen Caissie (Burlington, ON) both participated at Junior National Team spring training earlier this month and are ranked #115 and 217, respectively.

Noah Skirrow (Stoney Creek, ON) and junior right-handed pitcher at Liberty University checks-in on the list at #216 while Canadian-born player Trei Cruz (Rice University) and Jordan Nwogo (University of Michigan) are listed at 126 and 168.

The Covid-19 pandemic has brought uncertainty to the 2020 MLB First-Year Player Draft that is scheduled for June 10-12. The length of the draft will be significantly reduced from its usual 40 rounds to a minimum of five and could be delayed as late as July 20.
