Junior National Team reveals roster for the Dominican Professional Academy Camp

OTTAWA – Baseball Canada is pleased to announce the names of 28 athletes who’ve been invited to attend the Junior National Team’s Dominican Professional Academy Camp from May 13-21 in the Dominican Republic.

The nine-day camp will take place on the east coast of the Dominican Republic, home to the vast majority of the 30 Major League Baseball Clubs’ player development academies.

The camp will feature 11 games against squads from the Dominican Summer League including the Astros, Blue Jays, Brewers, Mets, Rays, Reds, Padres, Phillies, and Tigers.

Twenty-five of the 28 players invited participated in the Junior National Team Extended Spring Training Camp held last month in Florida.

Right-handed pitchers Cole Dorland (Langley, BC) and Nick Halcovitch (Waterdown, ON) alongside LHP Jerome Lucas (Montreal, QC) are the newest additions to the roster and will be making their Junior National Team debuts in the Dominican Republic.

Head Coach and Director of Men’s National Teams Greg Hamilton leads the coaching staff that includes former professional players and national team alums Pete Orr, Dustin Molleken and Jesse Hodges.
