OTTAWA – Baseball Canada has announced the list of athletes invited to the Women's National Team Training Camp, scheduled to take place from July 13-15 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, before continuing in Rockford and Rosemont, Illinois, from July 17-21 in preparation for the WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup Group Stage.
The training camp will culminate with Canada's participation in the six-team Group Stage, set for July 22-26 in Rockford, Illinois, where Canada will compete against Hong Kong (July 22), Korea (July 23), Mexico (July 24), host United States (July 25), and Australia (July 26). The top three teams will advance to the WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup Finals, which will also be held in Rockford from July 21-27, 2027.
Prior to the start of World Cup competition, Canada will face Team USA in a pair of exhibition games on July 18 and 19 in Rosemont, Illinois.
The training camp roster includes 18 players who helped Canada sweep Puerto Rico in a three-game series in May to secure the final Americas qualification spot for the WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup Group Stage.
The Women's National Team coaching staff is led by Manager Anthony Pluta, with Brittney Langlais, Kristy Watson, and Logan Wedgwood serving as assistant coaches.
The training camp in Winnipeg features workouts on July 13 and 14 before and intersquad game at Blue Cross Park beginning at 9am on July 15.
