2004 Baseball Canada Midget Championship

TEAMS: (Players, Coaches, Team Officials)

  • Teams must be in St. Albert by 4:00 PM, Wednesday August 25/04.

  • Team Accommodations are being provided by the Ramada Inn & Conference Centre located at (11834 Kingsway Avenue) Edmonton, Alberta, T5G 3J5. Players are three (3) to a room (each player will have their own bed) and coaches/team officials are two to a room (maximum four coaches/officials per team). On Wednesday August 25/2004 at the coaches & team officials meeting each representing team will provide a damage deposit in the form of a bond for protection against any room or hotel damage occurring during the Championship. The deposit of $300.00 may be paid by credit card, cheque or cash. All deposits will be returned in full within a maximum of seven days of departure providing no damages are assessed to have been the responsibility of that team.

  • Team accommodations are available from Wednesday August 25/04 to Monday August 30/04 (departure Tuesday August 31/04). The Host Committee is responsible for the room cost at the Ramada Inn & Conference Centre only. There will be no exception. Teams will be required to provide a Credit Card imprint on check in for any telephone calls, movies or other hotel costs.

  • Team accommodations are available on Tuesday August 24/04 for those team/s who will be arriving early. The accommodations for Tuesday August 24/04 are the responsibility of the Team. Early arrivals are to be made through the Host Committee. Special arrangements may be made through the Host Committee for earlier team arrivals.

  • Transportation will be provided for all teams by passenger vans or bus. Transportation will be provided to and from the airport to the hotel and to and from the ball facility for games and other Championship events. Teams that will be arriving in their own buses are asked to use those same buses for Championship transportation.

  • The Host Committee will be providing a Meal Package for the Teams. The Package includes a buffet breakfast at the Hotel and two meals at the site. Arrangements will be made to supply the meal to the team at the Hotel if the Team is not at the ball facility at mealtime. The cost is $25.00 per player per day for the Meal Package. Please advise if you require a Menu for the Meal Package.

  • The Welcome Banquet will be held at the Ramada Inn & Conference Centre on Wednesday August 25/04 from 6.00 PM to 9.00 PM. The Banquet will be at no cost to teams.

  • All baseball games will be played at Diamond 1 & 2 at Legion Memorial Park, in St. Albert. The diamonds are located approx 50Ô apart and share concession/washroom facilities. Practice fields are available off site and batting tunnels and cages are also available at the site, located at 215 Sturgeon Rd.

    MEETINGS:

  • The Pre-Championship meeting will be held at 5:30 PM on Wednesday August 25/04 at the Ramada Inn & Conference Centre in Edmonton. Meeting Room TBA.

  • The UmpireÕs Pre-Championship meeting will be held at 5:30 PM on Wednesday August 25/04 at the Ramada Inn & Conference Centre in Edmonton. Meeting Room TBA.

    UMPIRES:

  • Umpires must arrive by 4.00 PM Wednesday August 25/04.

  • Accommodations for the umpires (max 14) are at the Ramada Inn & Conference Centre, (11834 Kingsway Avenue) Edmonton, Alberta, T5G 3J5.

  • Rooms are based on double occupancy. Umpires who bring their spouse will be required to pay 50% of the room cost.

  • Umpire accommodations are available from Wednesday August 25/04 to Monday August 30/04 (departure Tuesday August 31/04).   • An Umpires Change Room is available at the ball facility.

    FANS, PARENTS, SCOUTS:

  • Accommodations for fans, parents and scouts have been provided for at the Ramada Inn & Conference Centre, the Championship Hotel, at the rate of $ 85.00 per night. To reserve a room call 780- 454-5454, Fax: (780) 453-7360. Callers must identify they are attending the Midget Championship to qualify for the special room rate.

  • The Host Committee will not provide transportation for fans, parents and scouts to and from the hotel to the ball facility.

  • Tickets are available in advance for $20.00 for the Welcome Banquet through the Midget National web site (Banquet Reservations) until Monday August 23/04 at 5.00 p.m. MST.

  • Tickets may be purchased thereafter at the Ramada Inn & Conference Centre Banquet on August 25/04 at 5.00 p.m. (based on availability) at a cost of $25.00.

  • Admission for the Championship for Adults is $25.00 for a Tournament Pass or $7.50 per day. Under 18 years of age $5.00 per day. Children 12 years and under no charge. Souvenir Championship Programs are $3.00. A full compliment of quality Championship souvenirs will be available.
