Baseball Canada Welcomes Brian Morris as Senior Director of Operations

OTTAWA – Baseball Canada is pleased to announce that Brian Morris will join the organization as Senior Director of Operations, beginning October 13.

Morris brings more than 20 years of experience in sports management and organizational leadership to Baseball Canada, including five years working in professional baseball.

“Brian brings a tremendous amount of experience, leadership and perspective to Baseball Canada, and we’re excited to welcome him to our team,” said Jason Dickson, CEO of Baseball Canada. “His background across professional and amateur sport, major events and organizational leadership will be a valuable addition to our organization.”

A former executive with the Ottawa Senators and Canadian Tire Centre, Morris has been involved in the planning and delivery of several major sporting events, including two NHL outdoor games, an NHL All-Star Game and a Women’s World Hockey Championship.

His international experience includes serving as a team executive with Team Sweden through the Swedish Hockey Federation at both the World Cup of Hockey and the 4 Nations Face-Off.

Morris has also provided consulting services to sports, community and public-sector organizations and has taught sport business management at Algonquin College.

In addition to his professional experience, Morris remains actively involved in grassroots sport. He has volunteered as a convenor and coach with the Kanata Baseball Association, Kanata Minor Hockey Association and West Ottawa Soccer.

Morris currently serves on the board of directors of Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice. He lives in Kanata, Ont., with his wife, Annie, and their two sons, Connor and Cameron.

“I’m thrilled to join Baseball Canada and grateful for the opportunity to support the game at every level across the country. Baseball has been an important part of my family’s life, which makes joining the organization especially meaningful. I’m looking forward to working with the staff, provincial associations and broader baseball community to help the sport grow and thrive in Canada.”
