Greetings from Summerside and Tignish, Prince Edward Island proud hosts of the 2006 Baseball Canada Midget Boys Baseball Championships! Plans are well on their way to ensure this years championship will be great one.

Please take the appropriate time to review the outline details regarding our championship so that your experience in Summerside and Tignish will be a enjoyable one.

TEAMS: (Players, Coaches and Team Officials)

Teams must arrive in Summerside by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2006.

Players and Coaches are asked to be at the Welcome Barbecue at Queen Elizabeth Park starting at 6:00 p.m. August 23, 2006.  (Complimentary for Players, Coaches & Manager). Teams are reminded that team pictures are taken at this time so teams are encouraged to wear team attire.

Accommodations for players are as follows: For those teams who are scheduled to play in the Summerside Pool, arrangements have been made with the Slemon Park Inn as Host Hotel. Their direct number is (902) 432-1780. For those teams who are scheduled to play in the Tignish Pool, arrangements have been made with various facilities in the area. Please call our office for further details (902) 432-1294.

All arranged accommodations are available from Wednesday, August 23 to Monday, August 28th.

We encourage all teams and officials to fly into Charlottetown Airport to support our provincial economy and enable us to provide you with a prompter transportation system from Charlottetown Airport to Summerside and Tignish and vice versa. If teams cannot accommodate this request we will also provide transportation services to/from Moncton Air Port.

Games will be played at the Queen Elizabeth Park on the Main Baseball Facility and at the Memorial Field in Tignish. The park in Summerside (QEP) seats 2500 people and has many washrooms, food services, and concessions stands including food and photos. MEETINGS:

The Pre-Championship Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 23 starting at 8:30pm  at Slemon Park Inn. Each team is permitted only to send two (2) reps per team and their provincial representative.

UMPIRES: Umpires should arrive in Summerside by 4:00 p.m. on August 23, 2006.

Umpires are asked to be at the Welcome Barbecue at Queen Elizabeth Park starting at 6:00 p.m. August 23, 2006.

Accommodations for Umpires have been arranged at Slemon Park. There will be two umpires per room. Accommodations are available and paid by the host committees from August 22 to August 28 (Inclusive). Transportation has been arranged to and from the airport and during the championship for all umpires. Umpires will receive a Meal Per Diem from the Host Committee upon arrival at the championship.

TRANSPORTATION

Plans will be made to ensure teams are picked up from the Charlottetown or Moncton Airports.

Depending on the requirements of getting the teams back to Summerside and Tignish there may be additional space for parents and spectators to be transported. If this space is available a set fee will be charged for this service. You can call 1-902-432-1282 to reserve space after August 11, 2006.

Game tickets prices are as follows: Day Pass $6.00, 12& Under Free. Tickets will go on sale in July. You can order tickets by phone by calling 1-902-432-1282 Visa and MasterCard accepted.
